This phrase "Lord help me" is one of those phrases that has organically moved into my vocabulary during my most trying moments. It is a version of something my mother used to say as well: "Lord, have mercy." I had not noticed this "appearance" until recently when the little boy whose house we are staying at asked," why do you say 'Lord help me.' I answered, ' because I need to call on someone bigger than me when my strength is gone."
